Sketch Sunday #35

I was going through my comic art pile yesterday and realized that in all that stuff I only had one image of Nahiro. I known I've drawn more and I know some of that is in actual sketchbooks but I still felt sad for poor, neglected Nahiro.

So here is his new outfit. This will show up in Chapter 13.

Cherry

Finally finishing all my planned Christmas presents. The only problem is deciding who to put into this image with Cherry. She belongs to Meshia. You can see her blog over here

The image will be finished when I figure out who to draw with Cherry.

Edit: Meshia got back to me on her fave AotN character so here's the inked line art.

Hanging out in my friend's livestream this evening and drew some stuff on request.

Danyen and Kinrou

The minor character Danyen was mentioned in both last Thursday's and today's 'Children of the Tiger' pages. I had this really strong image after putting up today's page that Danyen would be the kind of person to flip someone the bird. Granted, that's a gesture that doesn't exist on An'katerr so there's no chance of it showing up in the comic. I drew it anyways just for fun.

I wanted to draw one of my many boys but had no idea who. A body turned into Kinrou somehow.

This may be his new outfit for the next chapter but I may wind up designing something a little less...plain (even though plain stuff suits him better).

Sailormoon time!

As is pretty clear to anyone who knows me or has been through my deviantArt gallery, Sailormoon is my favourite anime/manga. I even love the live action. As such, when I mentioned to Sakky that I had no idea what to draw for today she suggested the Spiral Heart Rod, followed by the Moon Chalice/Sacred Cup thing. From there I went on to draw a Starlights broach, Jupiter's spear from PGSM (badly, I might add since all the refs I could find were blurry), and lastly the cool sword from the manga.

Nalshen and Kasui

Sorry I didn't get a post up yesterday. I was busy with other things.

Instead of just using a straight mechanical pencil like I did with the last two, I actually used my art pencils since they were handy. I think it turned out better. Nalshen is from Children of the Tiger.

Just a quick drawing of Nenokuni Kasui from Shards of Phaeton.

Greyscale fun

I was once again at work today. Oh the life of a substitute teacher, right? Anyways, I had this awesome bunch of 3rd graders that actually did the work when it was assigned to them giving me a lot of alone time. Weird. So not only did I get a significant amount of writing done but I also got some sketches done. Now, I had initially intended to ink and colour these but ten this happened.

The outfit was kinda random but I like it enough that this is just another outfit that she wore at home.

I had meant to draw Kishandren but the face shape was all wrong but it was right for Sahiren, so... I didn't have my big eraser at all so I couldn't get rid of it. So forward I went and this is what I got.

Clothing designs

I was actually back at work today for the first time this year. It was a bit rough but that's not important right now. The important thing is that I've finally started to work on the clothing designs I need for chapter 13 of Children of the Tiger

So, this is Sahiren's new clothing. He even gets a new hair clip. Lucky guy.

Kishandren finally get to go back to wearing more traditional clothing from her country. She hasn't worn anything from home since she first showed up in her torn uniform. Poor girl. She also gets a new hair clip and gets to wear her hair in a lower poytail this time.

12 Hour comic day

Over on Comicdish, one of the members proposed a 12 hour comic day for today. I'm not well (I have the beginnings of a head cold) so I thought this would be a nice day to get some pages done for my buffer since I'm pretty much just sitting around on my butt anyways. Might as well be productive right?

Anyways, I've got four pages of sketches done for it so far. Haven't inked anything and probably won't until I'm done drawing and am ready to properly format the pages.

These are in no particular order to avoid spoilers. Also, no dialog for the same reason.

Sketch Sunday

A few followers! That's awesome! Welcome aboard! I'm in a happy place today, so pardon my exclamation marks.

To start off with, I generally do a weekly sketch "Sketch Sunday" for my comic Children of the Tiger. Usually, these are inked images and are occasionally coloured but not this week. I had a lot of fun drawing one of my Naga characters last night and I opted to not ink him but just go straight from rough pencil to digital painting. It was fun so I thought I'd try that with today's sketch Sunday.

As you can see, I went a bit farther than that. This is kind of what my pencil drawings used to look like, though those were mostly of anime characters. All in all, this took me roughly 20 minutes to complete.

Weirdly this one:

took about twice that long. He's also not very detailed or very complete yet. I admit, a large part of my whole "I don't want to ink him" comes from not wanting to draw in all the scales in his tail and then have to redo them digitally when I paint him.
Everyone, say hello to Kain'uras the Bold, a sort of character from one of my novels.

Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to my brand new sketch blog. It's my hope that I'll be able to put up one post a day containing at least one image. Most of these will be unfinished/WIP pieces but once in a while a finished piece will pop up here.

Anyways, to celebrate the opening of this blog I have a piece of art to share with you.

This is Sailorphaeton from my comic Shards of Phaeton. This isn't a form she has in the comic. This is based on Princess Sailormoon from "Pretty Guardian Sailormoon". I thought it would be fun to design a Princess Sailorphaeton. The pose is taken from an official Princess Sailormoon image and contains some similarities in the design such as the pearl accents and the lace. The shoulder decorations and tiara are different as are her boots. This will eventualy be coloured and she will have a sword in her hand. I haven't decided yet if I'll use her original sword (which is pretty bad ass on its own) or if I'll design a special Princess weapon for this form.
