Ballet

There was a spam thread over on the Comicdish forums and it sort of devolved into 'draw your character in ballet clothes' thanks to BJC. I thought this would be fun so here are a few of the ones I drew.






I did a full set of the major characters but i don't want to give everything away, now do I?

Sketch Sunday 42

I was doddling yesterday and this pose happenec. i thought it would suit Nalshen so I added his stuff into it. Didn't feel like drawing a shirt since I'm really happy wtih how that torso turned out.

So hot!

I've been working a bit on the redrawing project again lately and have gotten quite a bit done. Two more pages have been added to the website. I've got a bunch of pages sketched and laid out for colouring. It'll take me a while to get them finished but hey. At least I'm getting on with it, yeah?

Sword practice

I've been giving more thought to my redrawing project for Children of the Tiger. I haven't worked on it in a long time and I'm at a point in my drawing that I can consider moving forward with it again. To that end, I drew this:



There's a scene in chapter 4 where Kishandren is doing some sword practice. I'm working out a series of moves and postures that will be unique to the people of Shanshiire and a few specific to the family Kishandren comes from. This is one of them but it has no name yet.

Catty fun

I sketched these out yesterday, trying to get a better handle on feline anatomy. Aldiara was the first thing drawn but I didn't want to fill the page with people.

International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women's Day, I thought I would do a group image of some of my strong female characters.

Throne room musings

Just a quick doodle of Sahiren in his throne.

Children

I've been wanting to draw my CoT characters for a few days but had no idea what I should do with them. Then it hit me. I'd done an age meme for Kinrou. Why not do the same for the rest of them? I'd only drawn Sahiren, Kinrou, Kishandren, and Aldiara as children before this. Now we have Nahiro and Mienna.




I tried to make Mienna recognizable. Nahiro...I deliberately altered his design to show you what he looked like before the attack on his village.

Semi hiatus

Sorry for my lack of updates lately. I haven't been feeling well. (And if you could have seen how long it took me to type this much you'd probably die laughing.) On monday, I was diagnosed with bronchitis and given some pretty strong meds to help me feel better. They seem to be working as I don't feel as much like death as I did on Sunday night/Monday morning, but I still don't feel healthy. As a result, I haven't drawn much at all lately.



This isn't new. I drew this last week but haven't had the time to fix the problems with it and get it finished. I haven't shown it to anyone so I thought I'd post it here for you guys to see.

Portrait sketches

I was at work yesterday and not feeling too good. I wasn't in one place long enough to pull out my netbook and do some writing so I sketched.



So here we have Aldiara and Mienna from Children of the Tiger, Kino Makoto from Sailormoon, an as yet unnamed character, Eris and Phaeton from Shards of Phaeton, and Kinrou from Children of the Tiger.

Here there be a dragon

I don't draw dragons often. I'm not very good at it.


I will eventually be adding one of the Dragon Warrior characters in with him I just haven't decided who yet and wanted to have a plain version of this image anyways.

Sketch Sunday #35

I was going through my comic art pile yesterday and realized that in all that stuff I only had one image of Nahiro. I known I've drawn more and I know some of that is in actual sketchbooks but I still felt sad for poor, neglected Nahiro.

So here is his new outfit. This will show up in Chapter 13.

Danyen and Kinrou

The minor character Danyen was mentioned in both last Thursday's and today's 'Children of the Tiger' pages. I had this really strong image after putting up today's page that Danyen would be the kind of person to flip someone the bird. Granted, that's a gesture that doesn't exist on An'katerr so there's no chance of it showing up in the comic. I drew it anyways just for fun.



I wanted to draw one of my many boys but had no idea who. A body turned into Kinrou somehow.

This may be his new outfit for the next chapter but I may wind up designing something a little less...plain (even though plain stuff suits him better).

Nalshen and Kasui

Sorry I didn't get a post up yesterday. I was busy with other things.


Instead of just using a straight mechanical pencil like I did with the last two, I actually used my art pencils since they were handy. I think it turned out better. Nalshen is from Children of the Tiger.
