Ballet

There was a spam thread over on the Comicdish forums and it sort of devolved into 'draw your character in ballet clothes' thanks to BJC. I thought this would be fun so here are a few of the ones I drew.






I did a full set of the major characters but i don't want to give everything away, now do I?

Griffin Rider

I drew this ages ago, but in my recent journal on deviantArt I asked my watchers what images in my gallery they'd most like to see finished. This was selected as one of them.



It's not done yet, but I really like the vector look of this so I thought I'd post it. I plan on painting it in the same style as the majority of my recent 'Angels of the Night' images.

Sketch Sunday 42

I was doddling yesterday and this pose happenec. i thought it would suit Nalshen so I added his stuff into it. Didn't feel like drawing a shirt since I'm really happy wtih how that torso turned out.

So hot!

I've been working a bit on the redrawing project again lately and have gotten quite a bit done. Two more pages have been added to the website. I've got a bunch of pages sketched and laid out for colouring. It'll take me a while to get them finished but hey. At least I'm getting on with it, yeah?

Sword practice

I've been giving more thought to my redrawing project for Children of the Tiger. I haven't worked on it in a long time and I'm at a point in my drawing that I can consider moving forward with it again. To that end, I drew this:



There's a scene in chapter 4 where Kishandren is doing some sword practice. I'm working out a series of moves and postures that will be unique to the people of Shanshiire and a few specific to the family Kishandren comes from. This is one of them but it has no name yet.

Follow you

I've been reading fanfic again. It feel...strange in a way but also good. I haven't done so in a long time so believe me when I say it took something special to get me to read this. Kashoku is writing a Stargate SG-1/Final Fantasy X-2 crossover and I'm totally in love with it after reading 4 of the 6 published chapters. So I'm doing what any slightly obsessed fan girl does and draw her art. This is piece #2 that I've done for her.

I sketched these out yesterday, trying to get a better handle on feline anatomy. Aldiara was the first thing drawn but I didn't want to fill the page with people.

More work doodling

I was contacted by the school a couple days ago to ask if I would facilitate a portion of the school's annual Arts Festival. The last time they asked me to do this I did plushies, but those are really labour intensive. This time I'm going to do drawing. So I've been trying to figure out how to teach simple drawing techniques to 4-6 graders (9-13 year olds give or take). Unfortunately, instead of anythig helpful this is what came out instead.

My web novel Soul of the Blade updated today. I haven't done much more than concept sketches of this project so I though I'd draw Nalai. It turned into a chibi somehow. Oh well.

Children

I've been wanting to draw my CoT characters for a few days but had no idea what I should do with them. Then it hit me. I'd done an age meme for Kinrou. Why not do the same for the rest of them? I'd only drawn Sahiren, Kinrou, Kishandren, and Aldiara as children before this. Now we have Nahiro and Mienna.




I tried to make Mienna recognizable. Nahiro...I deliberately altered his design to show you what he looked like before the attack on his village.

Before she was queen

Random doodling led to this. I thought it might be an idea to draw the Red Queen in her old life, when she was simply a noble rather than the Queen.

Stars of Destiny season 1

I've weirdly had the urge to work on this story lately and with that comes art.



So here's the main cast from season 1.

I've never drawn Vulpina and Vulturia before as they haven't yet been introduced into the story. Vulpina will show up in Act 07. Vulturia is the final villain you see in season 1.

Off to School

I haven't drawn any of the Stars of Destiny characters in a long time. I was working on a few of them this afternoon and wound up drawing Hana in the updated version of her school uniform.

Semi hiatus

Sorry for my lack of updates lately. I haven't been feeling well. (And if you could have seen how long it took me to type this much you'd probably die laughing.) On monday, I was diagnosed with bronchitis and given some pretty strong meds to help me feel better. They seem to be working as I don't feel as much like death as I did on Sunday night/Monday morning, but I still don't feel healthy. As a result, I haven't drawn much at all lately.



This isn't new. I drew this last week but haven't had the time to fix the problems with it and get it finished. I haven't shown it to anyone so I thought I'd post it here for you guys to see.

Sketches of Phaeton

I drew her between assignments at work today. Oh, the life of a floating sub. I worked on it a bit after work as well waiting for my kids to finish what they were doing.
I think I need to make her back bows a bit more floaty to go with the hair (which is way too long but looked crap otherwise). Her hand is not in the pose I want for it but this was better than her arm just terminating at the wrist.

I was at work yesterday and not feeling too good. I wasn't in one place long enough to pull out my netbook and do some writing so I sketched.

I don't draw dragons often. I'm not very good at it.


I will eventually be adding one of the Dragon Warrior characters in with him I just haven't decided who yet and wanted to have a plain version of this image anyways.

Magic and gods

This evening I felt inspired to finally draw what Kolashti looks like. Now, anyone following the alternate version of 'Path of the Warrior' that I've been posting on my deviantArt account know who she is.


So this is what she looks like. When that's coloured, that will be magic in her hand.

As for the other half of today's title, we have this fellow from 'Angels of the Night'. As far as i know, I've never drawn a male Naga before.

The information according to my file reads
Anjus’ketlen the Fierce - one of the three gods of the Kha’len. He is the god of anger.

For the record the Ka'len are a triad of male Shai’then deities that are the chaotic opposite of the Shin’ho’juan. They consist of Anjus’ketlen, Rai’telpet, and Vetol’xosed.

A boy kind of day

I was called into work today. I didn't get to draw what I wanted to since I forgot to bring the power cable for my netbook and didn't have access to my image references. As it turns out it wasn't a bad thing since it gave me a chance to draw a character I've never done before.


This is Xillkorenath, a Ryuutenshi character from 'Path of the Warrior'.

while drawing this, the 4th grade students I was working with today asked me to draw other things. One was a Superman image that a kid bought off me for $2 and the other was a portrait. The boy in question cliamed it looked nothing like him. Whatever. I think it's pretty accurate.

Sketch Sunday #35

I was going through my comic art pile yesterday and realized that in all that stuff I only had one image of Nahiro. I known I've drawn more and I know some of that is in actual sketchbooks but I still felt sad for poor, neglected Nahiro.

So here is his new outfit. This will show up in Chapter 13.

Cherry

Finally finishing all my planned Christmas presents. The only problem is deciding who to put into this image with Cherry. She belongs to Meshia. You can see her blog over here



The image will be finished when I figure out who to draw with Cherry.

Edit: Meshia got back to me on her fave AotN character so here's the inked line art.

This is oen of the few gods that does actually show up in Angels of the Night. This is Delyar Burning Hands.

Sailormoon characters by request

Hanging out in my friend's livestream this evening and drew some stuff on request.

Danyen and Kinrou

The minor character Danyen was mentioned in both last Thursday's and today's 'Children of the Tiger' pages. I had this really strong image after putting up today's page that Danyen would be the kind of person to flip someone the bird. Granted, that's a gesture that doesn't exist on An'katerr so there's no chance of it showing up in the comic. I drew it anyways just for fun.



I wanted to draw one of my many boys but had no idea who. A body turned into Kinrou somehow.

This may be his new outfit for the next chapter but I may wind up designing something a little less...plain (even though plain stuff suits him better).
